Christmas Wishes

Thank you so much to everyone who sent me messages, emails, calls ect about Kassie. She is doing great and its so nice to know there are so many people that care.

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to change a normal diaper again, give her a bath, tickle her tummy and see the birthmark on her back again. All the little things we don't think about everyday as parents are complete joys for me again. :o)

She has to wear a brace for right now but its honestly like night and day. Anything and I mean anything is better than that cast!! She decided to show off on Christmas day and stood up on her on- without holding on to anything!!! And now she won't stop! Its so nice to see her stand tall without that heavy cast weighing her back down.

Bad lighting here- I know!! Anyhow on to our Christmas madness.....

Posing with Ms. Amy's crew!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! :o)

And remember those cute pups next door?? Here is one of them!! Wow has he grown!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!! Now we can't wait for 2009! This year has been a bad one so we are ready to close the door and bring on the New Year. More pictures to come. Good night....

Her Journey

Until June 30, 2008 I really didn't know much about hip dysplasia. I had three girls and each time I watched the doctors do the hip test when they were born. I heard them say everything is okay so I took my sweet pink bundle of joy home each time and never thought twice about it.

I know there are worst things in the world- heck I could make a list for you. But honestly there is nothing worst in the world when the minute, that very second that doctor comes in that door and tells you there is something terribly wrong with your child. Nothing else matters.

So one dark day we took our baby girl to the OR and she came out with the ugliest most awful pink cast I could imagine.

Four cast changes, five time under anesthesia, one week long hospital stay due to a staph infection and more xrays than I have had in my lifetime.

But yes life does go on. Kassie ignored the stares and whispers. She learned the impossible was possible. She learned to army crawl, flip her self over, stand, climb the stairs and two weeks before her cast came off she took a few steps- in the cast!!! She never once stopped smiling or laughing.

Then *finally* 23 weeks later our sweet angels day came.......

I wish her journey was over, but we have to hope and pray that everything stays in place and her little sockets grow so she will not have to endure another surgery. Until that day we will hold our little girl close and never lose hope or faith in the bravest little angel we know......

WE LOVE YOU KASSIE!!!!

Bundle up!

This weather is driving me crazy. First cold, then warm, then cold, then freezing rain. Ugh! So Maddie talked me into going out the other day. First a little window shopping was in order.

Then I realized how much colder it was near the water!! So we lasted about 15 minutes before my hands froze up and I told her we needed to head home. Of course she reminded me that there was a Dunkin Donuts around the corner and I still owed her a donut from a bazillion years ago when she was 3.

So off we went for donuts and coffee! Gotta love this girl- she never lets you forget anything!!!!

And guess what tomorrow is??? Kassie has her appointment to get her cast off!!! YAY!!!!!!!! The day has FINALLY come!!! We can't wait. Check back real soon for an update!!!!

These are a few of my favorite things....

Remember that song? Thought this would be fun about the holiday season!!!

1. Starbucks

Yum!! Too bad they got rid of my Pumpkin Spice latte. And whats up with not having one around here? I always have to make an excuse to go to Target or the mall!!

2. Christmas Decorations

Yup, that is our tree and it was up before Thanksgiving. What can I say? We love Christmas!!

3. UPS

I worship UPS during the holiday season. There is nothing better than sitting in your jammies late at night doing your shopping in the comfort of your own home and getting free shipping & no tax (can we say Amazon!!)!! My goodies are on my door step at no time!

And yes, that all came the other day. Its just the beginning! ;o)

4. Hot Cocoa

Okay not quite. That is Kassie from last year. I can not resist- I will never be able to stuff her in there again so I love this picture more than ever.

5. Hats, scarfs, mittens

What does this have to do with Christmas?? I have no idea!! But I love cold weather accessories!! The girls have soo many- they will definitely stay warm!

To be continued.............

Littlest Reindeer

I've been a slacker this week with posting. But with good reason- lots of field trips, Christmas parties and oh of course Christmas shopping!! I keep saying I am done but these insane sales keep sucking me in!!

And of course its f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g cold here so I am not feeling that creative. Luckily I have one child that literally begs for her picture to be taken. She comes home from school everyday and will immediately ask to take pictures!! She is my crazy one but she keeps me busy!

Oh and those shoes.... ;o) I don't think she can really walk in them but I found them last year at the end of the season for super cheap!! And I can not resist cute, cute shoes that are cheap. So I just intended for them to be worn for pictures and maybe special occassions. They were too big last year so we dug them out the closet over the weekend and now she is SOOO in love with them that she fell asleep with them on the other night. Yeah I am in trouble!!

Colorful Heart

It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags.

And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

- Dr. Seuss

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend. Are we ready for Christmas? She is such a picture hog lately huh?? Aren't those shoes the cutest?!? I wish they made them in my size!!! :o)

A little spice!

And a few more for ya....:o)

We were on the way home from the shoot below and found this building!! She thought it was the coolest thing!!

And in the spirit of Thanksgiving here is a quick, easy recipe for you!!!

Pumpkin Mousse Pie

What you need:

1 1/4 cups of cold milk
2 packages of cheesecake flavor instant pudding & pie filling
1 teaspoon pumpkin spice or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 tub frozen whipped topping thawed, divided
1 graham pie crust (you can make your own or use the short cut like me!)

Topping:
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional- we didn't do this cause no one likes nuts!)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter

Now, go put your curly top kid in front of the TV ;o)

Directions:
1. In a large bowl beat milk, pudding mix and spice with a wire whisk for 1 min. Whisk in pumpkin. Fold in half of whipped topping.

2. Spread in crust. Refrigerate at least 4 hours.

3. Combine walnuts, brown sugar and butter. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes or until bubbly. Stir, cool. Spread over pie.

4. Serve with remaining whipped topping.

Sorry, no pictures of the finish product because the rugrats already dug into it!!

Enjoy!!!

Candy

Just a few for ya......

She was totally singing and dancing the whole time to this song (turn your speakers on peeps!). I just love how these show her personality

Oh yeah- and this one cost me a whole bag of M&M's on top of that lollipop!! Why? She was so embarrassed that everyone would be looking at her- oh and they did! She is a little traffic stopper!!!

Oh and guess what??? 28 more DAYS till Kassie gets her cast off!!! WHOO HOOO!!! Got the call today. Let the count down began!!!!! :o)

Peas!

Our visit to the hospital went well yesterday and very fast!!! This is going to be Kassie's last cast!! YAY!!! She was very brave and so was her doggie that got admitted and went along with her and blankie into the OR.

She will be getting her cast off before Christmas!! They angled her legs more inward to prepare her. Poor thing I think she is confused and off balanced- when we got home we set her on the ground and she fell right over!! But after a few hours she was into everything again. And of course a little light bulb went off in my head......pants!! Could I get pants on her? Yes I did!! Trust me this is a big deal if you weren't able to wear pants for 5 months!!

Her new favorite word is "please". Thats right my little polite child. But oh everything is please, please, PLEASE with a HUGE sense of urgency as if the sky is falling. Except it sounds like she is saying peas, peas, PEAS! And of course how can you resist telling her "no" looking into those big brown puppy dog eyes. Look what "peas" got her yesterday at the store....

I think I am in trouble......

Finally!!!!!!

I can join the club!!! Our blog is up and running. Well, I hope.....I am still trying to get use to this thing!! After many weeks of banging my head on my desk I finally got the layout that I wanted and the pictures to be bigger!!!! Yay!! I need to fix a few more things but I don't want to mess with this thing anymore than I have- everytime I change something it throws the whole layout out of wack!! Ugh! As a matter of fact the bottom is still wacky in Firefox! Okay enough rambles from me.....

Oh and I have some PURE cuteness for ya!!! We have two new neighbors in town!!!

Thats right! These cute pups!!! Don't you just want them both????

Too bad- they already have homes!!! Good for me though!! :o)

Now this is love........

Thanks Ms. N for sharing your pups with us!!!

On a more serious note...we are off to Delaware tomorrow to get Kassie's hip checked and **sigh** yet another cast-- unless some miracle upon miracles happens! I am not holding my breath!! So if you can keep her in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. For once I want to bring home some good news!!!!

Have a good night!!!
